The computer information systems curriculum is constantly updated to reflect the latest technological developments in the computer and information systems field. Our program goals are to provide top quality training to make our students employable immediately upon graduation, and to build a strong foundation for a successful career in this challenging field. Our core and elective courses provide students with broad-based knowledge and skills that will enable them to branch out to specialized careers. Students are exposed to a variety of platforms including mainframe, client server, and PC systems. In addition to the University computer resources, three networked PC labs are available for instructional purposes and for students' use for practice and experimentation. In addition to the coursework, students are strongly encouraged to acquire work experience through summer internships, part-time employment, and computer lab work. Internship opportunities are widely available through the Career Center. Students who plan to major in computer information systems are encouraged to start the program in their sophomore year.
